Small town business but excellent home cooking. All meals are homemade not box. Hand patted burgers made to order. Worth the drive. Excellent service friendly and helpful.

This is that sort of authentic and unique 'small town corner diner with a flare' you hope to luck into as you drive on I-70 or old hwy 40. Good food, good service, good value. Located off Atlamont square.

A hidden gem, for sure. You will NOT be disappointed by Vennia and her staff. They're friendly and know their food! I've never had anything that wasn't absolutely amazing. ♡

I had the Cinnamon Roll and a Hot Chocolate with homemade Whipped Cream and was very impressed. I couldn't eat the whole roll it was so good and large!

This is s quaint little place not far from the intestate. Mom and Pop style restaurant with good food. Didn't have to wait long at all. Great service and homemade goods for sale like pies to take and canned jellies. Reasonable pricing and good conversation with staff. Country style restaurant. Definitely try the cinnamon roll baked after 100 year old recipe.

Nice little diner, undiscovered and tucked away with a small town, family feeling. Had fish sandwich and sweet potato fries with a delicious marshmallow dip! I will be going back!

Happened upon this diner while going on a drive to Effingham. The food was very the service was great and the price was very affordable. I would recommend this to anyone on their journey.the locals already know and love it..we were really glad we stumbled upon this little gem.

They have the Best Western Omelette around! Lovely staff.

Like returning home to a meal cooked by my mother, The Open Door Diner is as close as it gets without going home. Always friendly staff prepares and serves up home grown recipes that taste great. Breakfast and lunch dishes have left me satisfied and eager to return. For those seeking some adventure there are a couple of 'Challenge' plates on the menu. Finish them and eat free - If you fail to clean up then you have pay up.

This diner is amazing. Their portions are generous, their food is delicious, and their service is amazing!! Anyone missing a little home cooked food or just wants great food, should definitely stop here! Worth every penny

I ordered the Farmers Breakfast but they were out of biscuts, bummer. I did come shortly before closing. The waitress recommend the Dress up, she said it was their most famous sandwich. I got it just the way they made it and it was AMAZING! I could do with out the cheese, but it's perfection still. The chicken was steamy and fried perfectly. The sauce was the right amount of sweet. Very very delicious and totally worth the Hop off the freeway. Oh and the homemade chips were delicious!

Wonderful home style cooking, friendly service and really cute atmosphere make this a great place to go.

Sweet, nostalgic, hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop diner! Truly a great local treasure. What an excellent choice it turned out to be to stop there for a nice lunch after experiencing nearby Alwerdt's Gardens nursery. Can't wait to go back!

They let me order by sandwich the way I wanted it. Then it can just as I worded it.
